The house has been completed remodeled and updated including new bathrooms, kitchen, windows, central air-conditioning, wireless internet, and more.
Originally a 1960’s cottage, you’ll enjoy just enough of the charm, coziness, and tradition of your memories of trips to the Jersey Shore, yet with all of the modern day conveniences. The location is ideal! Less than 300 yards to beach. 3 blocks to boardwalk. 4-6 blocks to historic district/shopping. You’ll be close to the beach, boardwalk and shopping, yet on a quiet street with ample parking. See the aerial photo of Cape May. Unlike most beach house rentals, we make improvements every off-season, so the house is very well maintained. Recently improvements include painting all of the bedrooms “beachy” colors, brand new stainless steel appliances for the kitchen, new 1st floor bathrooms, floor, kitchen cabinets and mattresses and more.
1st floor: The Family Room provides a great place to come together as a family, play Wii, board games or a movies. It has new wood laminate floors, nice comfortable furniture. It is bright from the 9 foot sliding door leading to a screened front porch. The screened front porch is great for reading the morning paper before others rise. At night you can hear the ocean waves in the distance. It has a small table for 2-4 people to eat, plus a wicker love seat and chair, both with seat cushions. Bedroom 1 is in the front corner and has a new Queen bed. It has double windows on the front and a single window on the side. There is a wonderful cross breeze and sounds of the ocean in the distance when weather is moderate and the AC is off. Also, a full size armoire for storage. Bedroom 2 is the master bedroom. Light and bright with a Queen bed - and with the recent renovation it also has a half bath attached. Bedroom 3 is usually where the kids sleep, as I did during the 1960’s! Twin beds and a nice big double window overlooking the big backyard. The full bathroom is all new, completely renovated. It has a double sink vanity, brightened by a window and complete with a tub/shower. The kitchen has new cabinets and a neat refurbished butcher block table that seats 8+. The adjacent dry bar seats another 2 with plenty of dry storage below. The kitchen has double windows on the side and another 9 foot slider, opening to the big back deck. The back deck is where you’ll want to be if you stay in for dinner one night. Large table with umbrella, plus smaller table for the kids or serving. Wide stairs open up to the big back yard where kids can play. We have our old soccer net and a ball there for the kids to play. A “Renters’ shed is provided including a beach cart with 4 basic beach chairs and beach tags, plus a wagon to pull the kids. There is a tub of misc. beach toys and an umbrella. When you return from the beach, you’ll enjoy a full hot and cold enclosed shower. We provide beach buckets in each room to carry your shower supplies to alfresco showering. A large charcoal grill is ready for an old fashioned cookout - perhaps while sitting-back having a beer or glass of wine as the kids enjoy the private backyard for playing soccer, horseshoes, or more. Bring your bikes and chain them up to the clothes pole.
Owner has vacationed at this house since he was a kid, going to Cape May with his Grandparents any time he could. Cut the grass and made repairs...trained him for the life of a landlord;) We try to keep it very well maintained.
We share the history of the house with your in our "Picture Book" we leave at the house - pictures from the original 1960s cottage to the new, renovated house with all of the modern day conveniences. And we have a photo book at the house of each year's renters - families enjoy coming back and seeing their kids when they were little.

About 300 yards from house to beach, just up Philadelphia Avenue. You pass by 6 houses and a hotel (the blocks run parallel to the beach so it's the ends of the blocks - a rectangle)

After agreeing on a stay and reviewing info on surfrentals dot com, I will email you a lease which you return postmarked in mail within 2 days. 1/2 payment due with signed lease. Balance and security dep. due 60 days prior to check in per date in lease.
Tenant is responsible for charge the Cleaning Service charged as of 2012: $95 ($85 when renting 3BR 1st floor). If house is left extra dirty and requires more cleaning, tenant is responsible for the service's additional charges. (The cleaning service cost has actually gone up about 25% above that in last several years but I have left it the same on the lease.)
Security deposit is $500. Tenant provides linens or may arrange for them with a local linen service.
